The books I write are popular works on history of the Crimean Khanate.
I suppose that the popular genre is one of the most complicated among all historic writings. An academician who writes standardized scientific work may afford not to be much concerned about readability of his text. A fiction-writer, from another side, isn't obliged to follow strictly the real course of events, which he based his plot on. It's the popular writer who has to keep thoroughly that fine balance between the uncompromising truth and authenticity and the dazzling intrigueness of his story.
Sources on history of the Crimean Khanate are generally not exceedingly exuberant, however they sometimes may present to the popular historian writer such brilliant (and authentic!) stories and vivid characters that leave far behind any fictional plots.
